Mike Mrla, Erie

Mike Mrla has nearly two decades of fire service experience and a background in commercial construction, bringing a unique blend of operational knowledge and project management expertise to help guide MVFPD’s future.

Mike began his fire service career in 2007 with Boulder Rural Fire Rescue (BRFR) where he currently serves as a Captain. Over the years, he has gained valuable leadership experience in emergency response, department operations, and firefighter training. Mike’s background in commercial construction also includes overseeing the build of a new fire station, giving him firsthand experience in planning and executing projects that directly benefit both firefighters and the communities they serve.

Beyond the fire service; Mike’s wife, Cyndi, and children, moved to Erie in 2010 to raise their family. Mike and Cyndi are both public servants who are passionate about investing in and giving back to our community, particularly through coaching and volunteering with youth sports.

If elected to the Board of Directors, Mike will prioritize responsible department growth, firefighter safety, and ensuring that Mountain View Fire Protection District remains wellequipped and prepared to serve our residents. He believes in strong community ties and want to ensure our fire department continues to serve and grow in a way that benefits our residents.
